Community Service
As an ninth grader I participated in 2 community service projects. One was raising canned goods for the people of Haiti, who recently suffered from a huge Earth quake resulting in many deaths, and their communities being destroyed. This was a project that my saddle club participated in. What we did? First our president, asked everyone to bring in canned goods. After about a month of bringing in canned goods, we decided to separate them into two piles. One pile went to one foundation and the other went to another. After we finished it made everyone feel good , having the feeling of helping someone.
Another Community Service project I participated in was Bocce Ball. This was held at my school," Westwood Schools." Anyone in grades 8 thru 12 can participate. What we do, is keep score, call the court, and other activities with the special Olympians. Mrs. Vicki, my computer teacher, heads up Bocce Ball along with many others. Mainly getting the feeling that you have helped make someone happy, is your reward, which is why I have participated in Bocce for 2 years, and plan to keep participating.
